Slow Down And See More

June 26, 2017

“Wisely, and slow. They stumble that run fast.” - William Shakespeare

No matter how hard we try, there is no way that we are going to see it all. The world is a wonderfully diverse place and it would take many lifetimes to cover every corner. Even though we can understand this, there still tends to be an urgency amongst travellers that keeps them rushing from spot to spot.

It is easy to get swept up in the commotion. Before a trip there is so much anticipation and thinking that goes into the adventure that you really want to make sure you don’t miss out on the hype. We want to visit new places so that we can experience something different and there is no way that we are flying all of that distance to just sit around and do nothing. The Lifestyle Project understands that life is short and that no time should be wasted, but from our own experiences and interactions with globe-trotters, we can’t stress the idea of “taking our time” enough.

Taking your time is dual in meaning. It is both about taking action and being patient with ourselves. It is about taking advantage of the moment and immersing ourselves deeper into life. It is about trusting our interpretation of time and enjoying where we are.  We can look at travel like running. Sprinting will certainly get us to shorter distances faster, but the journey may be blurry. Long-distance running takes composure. You are able to enjoy the whole process, adjust your pace to how your feel and cover a lot more ground.

Time is money is what they say, but really, time is time. Once we come to terms with the restraints of our finances, we are able to prioritize our trips in a way that produce more meaning. Our company focuses on depth of time experiences, so no matter how long you want to go for, you are able to get the most out of your time. This is why we as a company don’t have set prices for the majority of our trips. We work with each individual’s budget on a personalized level because we know that there are endless possibilities for exploration, regardless of the number in our bank account.  Our team knows that there is an experience out there for everyone and we just don’t want people to assume that travel has to be expensive.

But there is still so much to see and do isn’t there? Of course, it is nice to see the main sights when you go to a city, they are usually popular for a reason. With a little bit of planning or outsourcing, you don’t have to rush all that much to touch the cultural gems. We understand that not everyone has a much time as they may like, but if there is anything your are paying for when you travel, it is time.

Slowing down will allow you to see more.

In life, we don’t want to sprint to the end do we?

Let’s change the way we travel, together.
